Chris King Single Speed Rear Disc
More about Chris King

RRP: £268
Year: to 2006

Description: This hub uses our tried and true disc adapter system, allowing you to use nearly any disc brake out there, new or old or not yet designed. We always add new adapters as new brake systems emerge. This way, you can always use the latest brake technology without needing a new set of expensive wheels everytime you switch over.

Naturally it features a cassette mechanism built on our patented RingDrive™ engagement system. Chain line adjustment is just like on our regular single speed hub, using our King Cogs and several spacers (one cog and spacer set are included). Just like it's disc-free brother, the Single Speed Disc rear hub also builds a dishless rear wheel. For maximum flexibility, match it up with one of our Universal Disc Front hubs (and pick out an adapter for your brake system) OR save some weight and go with one of our new ISO Disc Front hubs (Hayes/ISO only).

One of the best features of both of our single speed rear hubs are the bolts that hold them to your bike. We call them Funbolts™. They are hollow stainless steel bolts with an aluminum cup that will not fall off and get lost. Sure you can remove the cup for cleaning, but it is not going to just fall off. These bolts are super light and super strong. They use an 8mm allen key (same as the one you use on your crank bolts most likely). Of course, it is just a bolt, but if you need to design a bolt, why not make it a really interesting one? Inserts for converting to a quick release axle are also available for purchase.
