    More about Cannondale

    RRP: £600
    Year: to 2006

Description: The new Jekyll features more travel, greater parts compatibility.

The Jekyll - named "Bike of the Year" in both the U.S. and Europe - is coming back better than ever for 2004. The innovative, adaptabe full-suspension design now boasts more travel and greater parts compatibility than ever before.

Last year's Jekyll frame had a maximum of 115mm of rear wheel travel and was only compatible with air shocks. Higher-end '05 Jekylls will still have air shocks, but with a full 135mm of rear wheel travel. Less expensive models will have coil shocks that deliver 115mm of travel.

What makes the Jekyll's award-winning design so innovative is its adjustable frame geometry. By adjusting the shock absorber's position within its redesigned trunion mount, the Jekyll's head angle can be set anywhere between 69.2 and 71.1 degrees (with a Lefty DLR fork) while the bottom bracket height morphs between 12.6 and 13.5 inches (32 - 34.3 cm).

With a lower bottom bracket height and slackened head angle, the Jekyll is dialed-in for high-speed descending. With a higher bottom bracket and steeper head angle, the Jekyll has a more nible feel and quicker handling for cross-country oriented riding. Rear wheel travel remains unchanged regardless of how the geometry is set.

    Bottom Bracket: 68mm
    Seatpost: 27.2mm
    Front mech: 31.9mm
