More about Shimano

RRP: £70
Year: to 2006

Description: Both cosmetically and mechanically, the new XTR rear derailleur has been re-designed completely. The biggest benefit comes in the form of the most linear action spring design ever made by Shimano. The result is consistent effort throughout the entire range of gears. The derailleur also features the "Low-Normal" return spring that enhances inward shifts, especially in varying severe terrain, and lends to incredibly intuitive operation when combined with the XTR Dual Control shifters. The outer link now embraces the pulley body to increase pivot joint rigidity. It not only provides more positive shifting action, and more durability, it looks good too! "Snap-ring" retainers ensure that the pulley bolts remain tight. An optional rubber bumper on top of the outer link reduces noise and prevents chainstay damage caused by some contemporary full suspension frame designs. A large easy-to-grip cable adjuster barrel on the shift lever allows cable adjustment on the run. Finally, an additional 10% reduction in shift effort is achieved with the new SIS-SP41 casing that is fully greased throughout its length with a silicon-based grease.
