'FAST, LIGHT AND FUN!'
Strengths:
Really light and fast
Good components (with the exception of not having disk brakes, which I upgraded)
Rides beautifully, even on very technical (XC) terrain.
Weaknesses:
Does not come with disk brakes
Quite expensive (particularly when you compare with say 2007 models)
Overall:
I've had this bike for 2 yrs now, and I have given it a real thrashing. (It's had about 3 new cassettes and practically a whole new drivetrain - though this is not the fault of the bike, it's me riding it in crap and not cleaning it properly - also putting lots and lots of miles on it!)
I've ridden it everywhere from Cambridge bridleways (my usual haunting ground - yawn) to really technical terrain in the Pyrenees, where it coped pretty well alongside others riding full sus bikes (in fact it was probably the rider that let it down in most cases!)

I have a full sus now, but my local riding friends take the p*** cos they never see it! They reckon I never ride it, which shows you how much I still love my hardtail.

'LIGHT, FAST'
Strengths:
Superb forks, light weight, looks good.
Weaknesses:
Having to spend another £200 to upgrade to hope mini disc brakes.
Overall:
Now that I'm a few months into riding it, the stumpie gets better and better. The performance and reliability have been excellent - no problems whatsoever. It's so easy to handle I've even managed to get halfway down the glentress red route before I noticed I'd forgotten to re-engage the (truly great) fox forks. (Admittedly it was an jarring experience... But a lot less scary than some of the boys bikes I used to ride).

'GREAT BIKE - EXCELLENT HANDLING ON TRAILS'
Strengths:
Lightweight easy to control. Dances over roots and rocks - masking the riders skill or lack of!!
Weaknesses:
Geometry is great for riding obstacles but does tend to encourage too much weight on your arms - would recomend bar ends if not using riser handlebars.

Rear mech did snap off but replacement hanger was only £14 - well designed I guess!
Overall:
Well worth the money - guaranteed to keep you grinning whatever the trail!

'I LOVE MINE!'
Strengths:
This is my first bike so I havent got anything to compare it to but it certainly does the job. All the others I ride with have Full sus bikes but my bike is just as happy as there's on most terrain.
Weaknesses:
It hasnt got a motor (when my legs run out of steam!)
Overall:
Value for money and was disk ready, so didnt cost much to upgrade. Nothing has broken and doesnt squeak like FS bikes do!
