Description:
Forks supplied with no v-brake bosses though they can be fitted to allow v-brake use. They have a disc mount so discs can be fitted straight away.

'CHEAP AND CHEERFUL'

Strengths:
The price is appealing! I have them as part of the original set up on my Merida hardtail. I said I would upgrade them as soon as they started to fail - something I expected in about 6months. Almost a year later, they are going strong and I have no intention yet to upgrade.

Weaknesses:
They are not the lightest of forks and have had poor reviews by (predominantly) blokes. I could imagine that a heavier rider would not trust them on much more than dropping off a curb, however I have had no problems so far and have ridden over a range of cross country terrain. There is lock out on the fork but this does not seem to noticeably increase stiffness and speed on smoother terrain. A nice idea, but not really up to scratch.

Overall:
I wouldn't go and but a set, but wouldn't be put off a bike that had these as stock. Not bad for beginners, and something that can easily be upgraded...although they may last longer than you first think!
