 RRP: £829 Year: to 2006 Description: The R800 CAAD8 frame is a lightweight aluminium frame. Using Alcoa Alcalyte tubing the R800 features Cannondale's Power Pyramid down tube which has a teardrop profile at the head tube, a round centre section and a large diameter thin wall at the bottom bracket for optimal pedal stroke efficiency. A tapered and double butted seat tube provides lightweight flex resistance. The head tube and bottom bracket shell have been CNC machined. The rear triangle features 6061-T6 aero hourglass seat stays which work in tandem with tapered and butted chain stays to improve air flow and provide a touch of vertical compliance. To finish off the rear triangle there are minimalist forged drop outs to help keep the overall weight down. A replaceable gear hanger comes as standard. Up front are a pair of Cannondale Slice Premium carbon forks. The blade profile reduces wind resistance and offers a better strength to weight ratio. The forged aluminium dropouts have been bonded into the fork legs for superior strength. An F.S.A headset is included along with Cannondale carbon stem spacers.
