 RACE REPORTS 27 / 06 / 06

National Road Race Championships - the results

The National Championships have taken place all over the world last weekend, with the British round held around the town of Beverly in East Yorkshire. The Hull Thursday Road Club promoted the weekend of racing, with the Women's race on Saturday.

Women's race - 101km

The consistently fast Nicole Cooke has won the previous six National Championships, and nobody could prevent her from a seventh consecutive win. A strong attack on the last lap with nobody with the legs to give chase, gave her enough of a lead to take the win. It was down to Lorna Webb and Joanna Rowsell to battle out for second, Webb just having the edge to take the second podium spot.

My commute is one hour in and a longer route of approx 1hour 20 home, whihc is definitely ong enough to develop some fidgets. I only rode it for a couple of weeks last year and faffed around with things quite a bit including turning the stem over.

I think I've just about sorted my saddle height/fore/aft position, after yesterdays ride I need to shift it forward a smidge based on where I naturally sat on the saddle. What I'm struggling with is the reach to the bars but not in the usual sense, I think mine is too short.

So, ...
