Due to the huge success of the SheCycles Clinic, thanks to the wonderful advice and hard work by Dr Kim, the Clinic team is now expanding so we can provide you with even more cycling health and injury related advice.
Sarah Carter qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1989 from St Mary's Hospital, Paddington and worked in a busy London hospital as a Physio. Then she completed a Masters degree in Manipulation in 1994 and moved to Reading in 1994 to start her own private physio practice specialising in back pain and sports injuries. Sarah also works at The Royal Berkshire Hospital clinic as Extended Scope Practitioner in Spinal assessment.
Sarah has a great knowledge of cycling and cycling related injuries, she treated the Editor when she damaged a ligament in her ankle and got her back racing in 3 weeks. Sarah races mountain bikes too, she's been riding since 1999 and raced last year on the Specialized Starlets race team on the NPS XC circuit and at 24 hour and endurance events to much success. This season she's racing for Beyond Mountain Bikes / Specialized with a full race calendar including the Gorrick's, Southern XC, NPS series and SSMM, SITS and Enduro 6.
If you have questions for Dr Kim or Sarah all you need to do is post them on the SheCycles Clinic Forum. They will be read and responded to in the first instance on the Clinic section of the Forum, then a full answer and advice will be posted on the homepage. If you would like an answer to a personal question then you can e-mail the Editor in confidence and she'll redirect to the relevant Clinic specialist. The same goes for time related queries, for which we will try to answer promptly in person. Remember though, if you're in pain and need treatment urgently your GP or hospital should be your first port of call - we can definitely help you to get fit and back on the bike afterwards!
