Britain's major women's stage race takes on a new initiative when for the first time ever cycle racing is held at the Millbrook Vehicle Proving ground which is 5 miles south of Bedford
The Proving Ground, regularly featured in television programmes such as 'Top Gear' and where newly designed cars are tested before they are featured in glossy motoring magazines , host the final 2 stages when the riders will be using the mile straight (you know the thing, 0 to 60 in 3 seconds), the speed oval plus the 7% hill and 11% hill to give an 12 kilometre circuit that will be covered 7 times.
The 2 Days of Bedford will be the 2nd event in the season long Women's Team Race Series and has a full field of 75 women, all from this country, spread amongst 15 teams, the most teams ever in women's racing.
Last season's number one team, Team Luciano/Kyota, will be putting their efforts for a win into Helen Gutteridge whilst Twickenham CC/Natures Kiss will be expecting Jenny Derham to take the honours but they may be all upstaged by Charlotte Colclough who has 2 wins to her credit already this season. Charlotte rides for Team Quality Cycle Products, a brand new team managed by race organiser Jon Miles.

On Monday 1st May the race moves to Millbrook Proving Ground for this unique racing experience with a one lap time trial with a start time of 10.00am to be followed at 1.30pm with the 84 kilometre final stage.
It's too late to enter the already full field but why not pop along and cheer the girls on, they'll really appreciate it!
