Trail Break Winter Events 07/08

Trail Break’s winter event season gets underway this month with the next of their Southern Trail Ride series on Saturday 17th November on the North Downs from Bramley, near Guildford.

The Trail Rides have run for 9 years, and will be announcing new sponsorship soon. The event format has proved popular for it’s good courses in accessible areas, ease of route finding, friendly organisation and sociable ‘performance’ rather than ‘competitive’ format.

17th November - Bramley, Surrey
1st December - Woodcote, Oxfordshire
12th January - Shackleford, Surrey
23rd February - Letcombe Regis, Oxfordshire
15th March - Kintbury, Berkshire
27th April - Princes Risborough, Bucks

Navigator Race series
Running alongside the Trail rides throughout the winter will be Trail Breaks’ Navigator Race series. These events can almost be considered classics, having run since 1993, and still enjoy a hardcore level of popularity. The Navigators follow an mtb orienteering, but with the emphasis on pace; fast map reading and riding.

18th November - Bramley, Surrey
2nd December - Woodcote, Oxfordshire
13th January - Shackleford, Surrey
24th February - Letcombe Regis, Oxfordshire
16th March - Kintbury, Berkshire

I'm using my original Lumicycle Halogens on NimH batteries but they're only lasting 1 1/2 hrs which is rubbish so am thinking of new purchase but not sure which way to go. LED or HID ?  At the mo I like one on bars and one on helmet because I like to see round corners.. but I don't like the joining wire which is cr@p.  Anh advice on what's out there at present and where you'd spend your hard earned is appreciated.  LED and HID is confusing me at the moment... oh and I don;t want to spend a fortune either

 Cheers, CJ
