A weekend of riding for women is planned on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November at Hamsterley Forest, County Durham. The weekend is sponsored by Fat Face and stars top world cup rider Helen Gaskell!!
The weekend, priced at £40 includes the following
Accommodation (Self catering chalet in the forest) for Fri and Sat night
Uplift service to the track from the chalet
Small snack lunch on both Sat and Sun
Coaching sessions including jumping and drops technique, racing tips, 4x, general downhill technique, general basic riding technique
Organised led cross country ride
Uplifts for free riding time may be purchased at £5 for the afternoon if booked in advance.
The weekend is being run as not-for-profit and the cost covers transport/uplift and accomodation, there is bike hire available at an extra cost of £10 for the weekend.
All riding abilities and discipline backgrounds welcome and sessions will be split according to ability and coaching requests.
The organiser is SheCycles member and well known rider/racer Kim Bent, she says there is "Loads of room for accommodation so bring your friends (male or female) to ride. They need to book in advance for uplifts and riding pass at £20 per day (just riding pass £6) and £10 per night accommodation, Accommodation is shared rooms and bathrooms so let me know if you want to share with any one specific.
Hamsterley Forest
Hamsterley Forest has many downhill tracks both technical and basic, 4x, dual, jumps and drops to suit everybody. If you want to improve your biking skills it is the perfect track to learn on. Look at www.descendhamsterley.co.uk for more info.
