Your weekend ride - it's supposed to be one of the highlights of your week, one of your rewards for another grueling round of 9 to 5s. Are you making the most of it?
Well that's what the people at Evans Cycles say about their Trailrides organised by the lovely people at
TrailBreak.
And we have to agree there's not simpler way to check out a route in a new area and meet likeminded people to ride with.
The Evans Trail Rides are organised mountain bike rides, you can start anytime you like in the morning and ride at your own pace, plus there's a hot lunch at the end and energy drink along the way too. There are three routes to choose from at each event, with distances varying from 12 to 40 miles, each route is well signed and you get a map printout to take with you for free.
Evans say "The Evans Trail Rides are designed to make great riding simple. We work out the best routes, mark them out for you to follow and even provide a marked up map - all you need to do is turn up and ride."
TrailBreak say "An excellent way to get out and ride! Just chose the right category for you and follow one of the three waymarked trails. We've done the navigating and route finding for you - all you have to do is enjoy the riding, (the Long route may include an element of navigation)."
Women's ride
The saturday morning rides run monthly throughout the year and offer a great way of keeping your riding fresh. Come along and ride with the SheCycles group, a bunch of sociable girls who fancy a natter and good ride. Nobody gets left behind!
The SheCycles ride meets at 9.30am at the start line, look out for a woman in a SheCycles jersey. SheCycles member Elaine Burroughs will be leading the Gatwick ride on 20th October 07.
