Fox Incline women's gloves - TESTED

Fox_Incline
Check out the large towelling thumb

The Incline is a light weight full finger XC riding glove, although we also use it on the road too making it a versatile glove that looks good too. The palm is a soft and pliable fabric called Clarino witha double layer across the contact area with the bar. The fingers have silicon patches for grip on the braking fingers and little pinky where you need a good grip.

Featuring a full stretch spandura back panel, the hand has full movement without restriction and there are no annoying seams either, our pet hate are the seams across the thumb knuckle. Why put a seam across a joint that moves constantly we ask? Anyway Fox have avoided that issue by designing a large towelling area that encompasses the entire thumb so sweaty brows and runny noses can be dealt with efficiently and easily. Between the fingers the fabric is super stretchy so the gloves form to your hands nicely for a close and very comfortable fit. We had a big mechanical out one day and never needed to remove the Inclines whilst fiddling with tools etc, testiment to the comfort and great fit of the gloves we feel.

The gloves fitted us so well we didn't really need the Velcro strap at the wrist, in any case it was inobtrusive and finishes off the close fit around the wrist nicely. Around the inside wrist the glove extends beyond most others, with a pull tab to aid getting the glove on and off. A great idea that also means you get more coverage across the inner wrist which works out super comfy too.

Back to palm for a second though, some riders like padding and some gloves in our opinion offer way too much making contact with the bars difficult. More experienced riders usually prefer lighter or no padding like the Incline design, this gives an intimate relationship with the bar. Women tend to have smaller hands so less padding is often better allowing a good grip and full finger contact with the bar grip. This is such a personal preference though and can depend on what grips you're using too and the sort of riding you do. These gloves are high performance at a low price, so well worth a try!

Protection is pretty good, we've ridden in the Alps in the Inclines in conditions that perhaps extend beyond the limits of an XC glove, but they held up well and protected us. The standard of manufactur is good with no ripping or stitching wear. On the very coldest of winter days we'd suggest a warmer glove but for spring through to autumn wear we've been happy and comfortable in the Incline.
