Kona Cheddar Bikefest update

cheddar_bikefest_action (10K)

Entries have been busy in the last few weeks with Saturday's 8-hour event being the main draw. There's still entries for both days available with the solo category getting rather close to the maximum number. We will take entries on the day (subject to a £ 3 surcharge) but we might not have any solo places available for Sunday.

If you're wanting to enter the solo or pairs on the Saturday, make sure to get your entry sent in over the next couple of days. Sunday's 4-hour relay event is also filling up but there may be a few entries for the late deciders available on the day. To enter simply go to www.bike-fest.com and click on the Kona Cheddar Bikefest picture frame. For the latest update on the rider list/entry confirmation please go to www.bike-fest.com/cheddar/entries.php.

Don't forget that you are entitled to our loyalty gift (see details here: http://www.bike-fest.com/cheddar/index.php) if you decide to rider both events over the weekend or give Cheddar a go after you have already taken part in this summer's Ritchey Bristol Bikefest.

There will be kids fun races too which will be held on Saturday lunch time. Entry for the Kids races will be taken at the registration and we will have three categories (0 - 5 years, 5 - 10 years and 10 and over).

Night time trail

This event, only recently added to the schedule, will be held from 7pm on Saturday. Riders will start at set intervals and will race one loop against the clock. To make it exciting there's £1000 worth of bike lights to be won provided by our lighting sponsor Nite Rider. Entry is free for everybody who has entered either the Saturday or the Sunday event and £5 if you just want to do the night time trail. There is no pre-booking needed - simply sign yourself into the list during Saturday's 8 hour event. Make sure that you have a sufficient front light for the length of the ride, a rear light, backup lights

Timetable and location

Registration will be open from Friday afternoon/evening at the entrance/shop area of the Broadway House campground and will stay open pretty much throughout the weekend. Racing on both days starts at 10am. That means that the last few laps on Saturday will be ridden in the dark and that everybody gets home at a reasonable time on Sunday. The Nite Rider night time trail will start at 7pm on Saturday.

Camping / parking

If you haven't sorted your camping out yet please get in touch with the Broadway House Campground booking hotline 01934 742610. Parking will be free for campers and competitors. Visitors will be charged a £3 parking fee.
