Gary Fisher 2008 bikes

Here's a brief roundup of the Gary Fisher's new Genesister range for 2008.

Starting with the HiFi Deluxe GS, the frame is G2 co-molded 110 GSM OCLV carbon fibre rear and set stays with an aluminium mainframe. Spec is good too with Bontrager Race disc wheelset, SRAM X7/X9, Shimano LX crank and Avid Juicy 5 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors. The new G2 offset fork is a Fox F120 RL with custom G2 crown to give a 51mm offset aimed at improving handling charateristics and stability at lower speeds. Suspension travel is 120mm on the rear and 120mm on the fork all highly adjustable with air pressure for a good set-up for riders of all weights and a lockout on the fork. Retail pricing looks likely to be £1700.

Hardtail lovers will be glad to see the Big Sur GS (Genesister) back with a few upgrades including Avid Juicy 5 hydraulic disc brakes, Fox 32 F100 RL fork, as well as the all new pale green paintwork and graphics. Pricing is £1000.

Novice riders are well catered for with the Marlin GS, a Shimano Deore kitted out hartail with Rock Shox Dart2 fork, not a bad package for £400.

We've been promised a test ride soon..here's hoping!

Thinking of buying one of these and would like to hear from any VERY SMALL ladies who have tried the Fuel EX range. Going for this as it seems to be the only FS bike small enough for my 5' very short legs. Tried a Gary Fisher GS Deluxe and the stand over was mad 29". My heels didn't get near the ground! All three sizes have same stand over!

Going hopefully for the 14" when they come out in September.

Any other options would be interesting. Thanks

Jackie
