With Gore Bike Wear's latest women's specific Ozone short, the company is offering a high end short that competes well with other established high-end shorts currently available.

Gore have been very particular about the cut of these shorts, the shape alone makes them comfortable. The 8 panels are a win for any short giving a good anatomical fit. The multiple panels give ample movement, prevent over stretching and have been used to give some very flattering lines with the flat feature seams. They have a little extra space for women's slightly wider upper thighs and sit very close to the body preventing chafing making them extremely comfortable.

The inserts at the front waist is a feature we hope other manufactures get a hold of. At first it is a different feeling, it is strange not to have a band of elastic cutting across your stomach. The difference the front waist panel makes is remarkable, especially on a long ride with the shorts sitting perfectly no matter what position you are in and there is no need to re-adjust.

The ergonomic seat insert (chamos) is a good design with the appropriate amount of padding in the right spots. It compliments the cut of the short making for a perfect fit.

An appropriate inseam length is always a must and the gripper elastic on the bottom hem certainly keep them in place. The grippers are a little on the tight side, however they are soft so do not dig in.

A very fancy feature on these shorts is the mesh pocket on the right leg. This is extremely useful in a long race for storage of the energy gel that takes forever to get out of your back pocket when you desperately need it. It is also an appropriate size for a key or a note, anything really, however without the capacity to close or seal, it is best left for those things that are needed in a hurry.

The reflective capacity of the short is useful in the shorter days with some reflective piping at the back lower leg and logo.
