Courses cost £50 and run at a pace to suit the group (Helen says 'and no we've never left anyone behind yet!') so as long as you are riding your bike at least once a week - dont worry, you'll be fine. The courses are delivered by female instructors and limited to a ratio of 1 instructor to a maximum of 6 females. If your other half wants to come along to try out the play area, jumps and downhills (each are 20-30 seconds long) then day passes to ride at Woburn Trails are available.

Helen Powell founded Get Mountain Biking and says “Women's participation in mountain biking has seen a steady increase over the past couple of years but there are still very few skills courses that are tailored specifically towards women. I established Get Mountain Biking to support women coming into the sport and those looking to further develop their technical skills. The courses offered are delivered by female instructors and develop skills required to ride confidently and fast. I get great satisfaction from delivering skills courses and it's rewarding to see the improvements made by those undertaking a course in just one day, their confidence and technical ability both visibly increase and they leave the day on a high after going down descents they never thought possible!”
