Sunday Sportive this Sunday

Woodcote Sunday Sportive, 5th August

Roadriding

Trail Break's Sunday Sportive series doubles up in August with two great cyclosportives. First up is the Woodcote Sunday Sportive on August 5th and the SheCycles team will be at the start line for anyone who wishes to come along for a sociable ride. Post your message on the Forum thread below if you want to come along, we'll be meeting on the start line at 8.30am and doing the shorter ride of 76km.

The event is based from the RATZ MBC race course on the outskirts of Woodcote village, north of Reading. The course is a classic southern Chilterns circuit, which means short, sharp and surprisingly vertical climbs, charming leafy lanes and picture postcard villages. It's a flowing course, but with plenty of physical challenge.

The scenery varies spectacularly, from the banks of the Thames, through hilly, hollow Chilterns lanes and onto broad open vistas where the route passes through Ridgeway country and gives you a hint of the plains off to the west.

Full info available at www.trailbreak.co.uk

There are 125, 95 or 76km distances to choose from, with full route marking, feed stations, broom wagon support and Sport Ident electronic timing for all riders, as well as automatic entry into the Sunday Sportive 2007 series draw. You could win a Pinnacle Bikes Team issue road frame or a fantastic 2008 Pyrenean road biking holiday with Pyractif, just for entering any of this seasons Sunday Sportives.

Our next Evans Cycles Trail Ride is coming up on the 4th of August from Woodcote, north of Reading, hopefully including a SheCycles group ride within it once again. Just wondered if any of the regulars are thinking of coming along - it'd be good to know in advance so we can help to get the group together at registration. I think Bex may be doing the Sunday, road ride, does anyone fancy being the 'lead rider' for the Saturday trail ride?

The event starts from the RATZ MBC site on the outskirts of the village, with the usaul choice of 15, 25 or 30 mile off road routes to choose from, all fully waymarked and mapped. We'll have the griddle going for a bit of BBQ action at the finish and there's even a couple of events on the Sunday too; ...
