At Hillingdon Cycle Circuit the transfer of cycling administration and changing facilities to the new Goals Soccer Centre is to take place from this Wednesday, 25 July, when the existing temporary huts will be removed to allow the final area around the gates to be paved and landscaped.
Riders and officials should expect inevitable slight problems in settling the new arrangements down, particularly on the administration side, so they are warned to arrive earlier than usual so that they find out where to go and what to do. It is understood that the entrance for cycling events will be on the far side of the building, adjacent to the five a side soccer pitches.
The use of the centre for soccer will officially start on 1 August, but advertising will be in September to allow a short settling in period. As Minet Country Park, within which the cycle circuit is situated, is already seeing growing use which will be greatly accelerated with the Goals Centre, all riders are advised to carry a cable lock, or similar, for when their machines have to be left out of sight, such as when signing on.
This is a matter of common sense rather than anticipating any particular problem at Hillingdon where the isolation of the cycle circuit has perhaps led to riders being less security conscious than wise.
The new changing rooms are fitted with lockers for which keys can be obtained for 20p from a machine. There are hot showers available at no charge.
