National Track Masters Rescheduled and Entries Re-opened
The National Masters Track Championships, due to be run at the end of June, fell victim to the weather and had to be cancelled. But there is good news, not only have they been rescheduled, but the entry list has been reopened as well, so if you were unable to compete on the original dates, all is not lost.
The new dates are 21st to 23rd September, venue is unchanged at Quibell Park, Scunthorpe, entry forms can be downloaded from http://www.mntc.org.uk
Five titles will be contested over the long weekend:
1. Sprint - Friday
2. Time Trial (500m to 1k) - Saturday 22nd
3. Points - Saturday 22nd
4. Pursuit - Sunday 23rd
5. Scratch- Sunday 23rd
Women will compete in up to three age groups, 30-39, 40-49 and 50+ (more entries may allow for these age groups to be broken down into 5 years).
While men will compete in up to nine age groups from 30 to 70+, in 5 year bands
These are probably the most fun and sociable of all the track meets and a rare opportunity to compete amongst your age group.
