Dirtgirls day 4 - action on rest day!

Yesterday was our mid-week rest day at Dirtgirls HQ with almost everyone taking a well earned day off. But.....

I was unable to curb my enthuasiasm I broke with the flow and went to check out the 10ft berms at the Les Gets Bike Park. The constant stream of downhill riders was a bit intimidating, but after lots of pschying up off I went and dropped in. What followed was an absolute party of berms, rollers, steps and jumps! The park was so well made every feature just rolled into the next, with more fun around every corner turned.

Another nice surpise was how supportive all those seemingly scary downhillers were. All I got was encourgement and patience when they caught me up, and I couldn't have asked for more.

Definitely worth conquering the nerves for, and a brilliant add-on to an already great Dirtgirls week!

Our next Evans Cycles Trail Ride is coming up on the 4th of August from Woodcote, north of Reading, hopefully including a SheCycles group ride within it once again. Just wondered if any of the regulars are thinking of coming along - it'd be good to know in advance so we can help to get the group together at registration. I think Bex may be doing the Sunday, road ride, does anyone fancy being the 'lead rider' for the Saturday trail ride?

The event starts from the RATZ MBC site on the outskirts of the village, with the usaul choice of 15, 25 or 30 mile off road routes to choose from, all fully waymarked and mapped. We'll have the griddle going for a bit of BBQ action at the finish and there's even a couple of events on the Sunday too; ...
