After a season on the track with Body Geometry mitts I was happy to discover the windproof deflect gloves from Specialized, (same technology, warmer fingers!) to see me through the chillier training conditions on the road this winter.
The deflect design makes for a warm, lightweight glove which uses Specialized Body Geometry technology to offer added comfort. These gloves certainly are versatile and have kept my hands warm and comfy through winter mountain biking, road riding and track racing. There have been days where I may have benefited from a thicker glove in the extreme cold however the deflect does offer an incredible amount of warmth for such a light weight and flexible design. There was no finger restriction when breaking and they were fitted enough for use on the track (it often feels colder inside the velodrome than outside!), unlike some bulkier winter designs.
New for 2006, the deflect offers a stretch shell with a windproof layer, velcro wrist closure for a secure fit and a synthetic leather palm with Body Geometry padding for Ulnar nerve protection. Reflective piping provides increased visibility.
So overall, a great glove to put in your kitbag for all disciplines of winter riding.
