Team FBUK announce final team member for 2006

This week, Team FBUK are please to announce their final team line-up. Emma Silversides has joined the squad, FBUK Manager Stefan Wyman says "Emma has impressed all of those that have seen her attacking riding style in the UK. With a win in the National Series at the very tough Mendip Hill Road Race, and finishing 3rd overall in the series, Emma has proved herself to be a tough competitor. The next step in Emma's career is to ride with the support of a team and also begin to gain European racing experience. She's a specialist climber but strong all round rider, Emma is a very strong addition to the squad for 2006."

About joining Team FBUK, Emma said, "I'm very excited about the prospect of racing with Team FBUK next season. My success on the bike up until now has been achieved as an individual rider without the support of other riders so this will be a whole new experience for me. Consequently, I'm looking forward to learning a lot more about the sport and hope to benefit from being a part of a such an enthusiastic and talented team."

She'll be joining a very successful team including the now essential FBUK team member Helen Wyman, currently racing the cyclo-cross World Cup circuit. Since qualifying as a physiotherapist, Helen Wyman has concentrated on road racing and cyclo-cross, culminating in riding for Great Britain for several seasons allowing her to rise to 3rd in the world rankings. Having ridden in Europe for much of the past two seasons, Helen adds a huge amount of experience to the young squad.

A new addition to the team in June 2005, Emma Pooley has impressed all with her results in major UK races. None more so than her 4th place in the National Championships held in Yorkshire. One of the strongest members of the 5 person break, Emma proved her class over major one day events. She was also a member of Great Britain squad for the 2005 World Championships held in Madrid and World Cup event in Wales.

Lorna Webb was the National Under 23 Road Race Champion in 2004, a title which she won at Beaulieu in Hampshire from new team mate, Gabby Day. Lorna was a member of the Great Britain Road team until this season and is now a member of the GB Track team. Having gained 19th place in the Rotterdam World Cup along with a host of other impressive results Lorna brings a wealth of experience to the team.

The 2004 National Criterium Champion, Clare Gross has shown her transformation from a multiple national champion as a junior to successful senior. Clare is a huge talent on the road, track, cyclo-cross and mountain bike. She has represented Great Britain throughout her career and at 24, brings experience to the team along with her potential for further national championships.

Catherine Hare is another new signing this week, she'e been a constant fixture in the European results over the last two seasons where she has ridden for Great Britain, then Bianchi as a Professional. Her experience in Europe and ability over all types of terrain is a huge asset to the team. Cath was 8th in the 2005 National Championships and rode in the 2005 World Championships in Madrid for Great Britain.

FBUK also show their commitment to up and coming riders and have announced their Development team for 2006. Comprising of Gabby Day, Lizzy Goodband, Susy Massey, Anna Watson, Tracey Fletcher, Laura Bissell, Femke van Schelkeen and Louise Day.

Seems like there's every angle covered at FBUK and SheCycles would like to wish them all the best success in the coming season. For more info on Team FBUK go to www.teamfbuk.com
