An exciting new race series for North East England is announced. Organised by The Bike Place who have sites in Gateshead and Kielder and in conjunction with the Kielder Trail Reavers who build and maintain the new mountain bike trails in Kielder Forest.
The series will have three rounds…
3rd March - The Winter Warmer - using a 22km course in Kielder Forest
31st March - The Border Raid
Probably the only UK race that is held in two countries! Starting in Kielder, heading across the border to Newcastleton in Scotland (and using the Red grade MTB trails) and returning to finish in Kielder, approx 60km. A shorter 22km course will be used for some classes.
26th May - The Hot Trod Weekend - a 30km route taking in the new KTR built Kielder Red Trail.
27th May - The Kielder Big Demo Day - Test the latest rides from Marin, Whyte and Santa Cruz on the Kielder trails.
Contact The Bike Place for more information and entries, tel 0845 634 1895. Proceeds from this event support both KTR and The Great North Air Ambulance.
