A good pair of winter gloves is one of the best investments you'll make if you fancy your chances keeping warm in adverse weather. Luckily there are a few options in women specific design and small sizes, the Cannondale LE being one of them.
The fabric is Carbon Thermal HydroGrid, a waterproof/windproof and moisture wicking fabric with a 4-way stretch to facilitate an ergonomic fit. Inside is the Outlast® lining which Cannondale claims adapts to your body temperature for all day comfort....more on that later.
Grip is good thanks to the combination of rubber and synthetic leather palm with silicone accents, meaning you don't have to worry about keeping a solid grip on your bars even in the wet. The large terry wipe is really handy for snotty noses or sweat ridden brows, well positioned and with a smooth edge for extra comfort. Other details include the reflective accents for good night time visibility, we particularly liked the accent on the fingers too.
We tested the small size and found the finger length to be just right and the pre-articulated design aided a comfortable and natural feeling fit and comfort for grip. Despite being lightweight and not bulky in any way the LE glove exudes warmth in even subzero temperatures (we stayed warm out on the road in -2C without concerns). We've been loathed to take them off as the temperature has risen too, +9C doesn't phase the LE glove either, an unusual surprise for winter gloves which often get damp and uncomfortable as it gets warmer.
