 RACE REPORTS 15 / 02 / 07

Surrey League - Novice Women's Road Racing

The Surrey League are all about encouraging riders of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy bike racing and they work hard to provide opportunities to for women who are new to racing to have a go.

If you have ever wanted to try a road race but felt a little intimidated then there are two dates that you should get in your diary now:

  • 25th February
  • 4th March

Both races are to be held at the MOD circuit in Chertsey, so there are no cars to worry about and it is probably the most interesting and varied closed circuit in the UK. On these dates, the Surrey League will run a race for novice women, which will include warm up laps ridden with a coach to get you used to the circuit and to riding in a bunch.

    SheCycles members get a discount

As if that were not enough, they are also offering SheCycles members a serious discount, if you enter in advance. The normal price is £12 for the race entry and £5 insurance fee (total price £17), however if you enter through us you can get all this for just £10 - a saving of £7!

    Get you entry in now

To enter, just send a cheque made out to The Surrey League for £10 to arrive no later than 22nd Feb1uray or 1 March, depending on the race you wish to enter. Please include your email address for confirmation purposes.

Cheques should be made payable to "Surrey Cycle Racing League" and posted to:

  • Bramley House, Brill Road, Horton-cum-Studley, Oxford OX33 1BB

You can of course still enter on the line, but it will cost you the full £17

    MOD Chertsey

  • Location: 1 mile South West of Chertsey
  • Course Details: Closed road circuit
  • Lap Distance: 2.0 mile - 3.21 kilometre.
  • Headquarters: Chobham Lane, Longcross, Chertsey, Surrey KT16
