 RIDES 28 / 12 / 06

New dates for the 2007 ride calendar

2006 is drawing to a close and we've seen record attendances at Evans Trail Rides and regular SheCycles rides for women there too. TrailBreak made a successful debut road event in the Southern Sportive and seen the MaXx Exposure develop into the must do event of the year!

They are putting the final touches to the 2007 schedule at the moment and there's a lot of exciting new new developments on the way. For the tarmac lovers there is the Southern Sportive 2007, following in the footsteps of a fantastic debut year in 2006. The Southern Sportive will be back on September 9th 2007 even bigger and better! The first 500 places will go on general sale on January the 8th with more places going on sale on March 1st. And If you entered last year's event, you will be offered the chance to enter early, from January 1st. Click here for more information. There's no doubt that this event caused a stir this year; cyclefilm.com have released their 30 minute DVD of the 2006 Southern Sportive - t's a great look back on a fantastic day!

A new road event is the Central Sportive at Ludlow in Shropshire on June 10th plus there's a great new concept to compliment the Sportive season, the Sunday Sportives will be keeping your road legs sharp from April next year. Click here for a sneak peak at these events.

SheCycles will be running women's rides at each of the Evans Cycles Trail Ride events, so come along and bring some mates too! Look out for updates on the SheCycles Forum nearer the time.

As I discussed with Mrs NBT, Ros, Trio, Pootle and others before, I thought I'd show you the delights of the lesser-known northern end of the Peak District, around Last of the Summer Wine Country (seriously, this is how Holmfirth and the environs markets itself).

We'll meet at 10 am on 7 Jan at Compo's Cafe on the corner of Greenfield Rd (A635 from Oldham) and Burnlee Road, Holmfirth. The A6024, Woodhead Rd from Holme Moss and Glossop direction crosses the other end of Burnlee road.

For those of you who are sat naved up, it's at HD9 2LA. Or put this postcode into http://www.streetmap.co.uk/, to see where ti it.

    Everyone welcome!
