Organised rides in your area!

Beyond 2
Meet like-minded people

It may be getting chilly here in the UK but there are still plenty of group rides and coaching session being organised. We know it can get hard to motivate yourself when the days are getting shorter, darker and colder but if there's a gang meeting up and raring to go it's amazing how much easier getting out a toasty warm bed can be. Let's face it, once you're on the bike it's great, and the thought of getting cold or wet is much worse than the reality.

With that in mind we've put together a list of group rides, we hope to see you at one soon and also that you'll let us know if you hear of any other rides or training sessions in your area.

This weekend

  • If you fancy a bit of road riding this weekend there's a SheCycles women's ride heading out from Woodstock near Oxford for 2 hours along quiet country lanes and a moderately flat route. Have a look at the thread on the SheCycles Forum for details on where and when to meet on Saturday 18th November.

  • SheCycles member and Forum Queen 'Pootle' is arranging a mountain bike ride at Coed Llandegla in North Wales on Saturday 18th November, women riders are welcome and SO's too. You can check out the trails on the Coed Llandegla Forest website and get in touch with Pootle on the SheCycles Forum

  • On Saturday 18th November, SheCycles member 'Jenn', 24 hour solo racer and singlespeed diva, is arranging a mountain bike girly ride with tea shop stop in West Sussex. Meeting at the Quest Adventure shop in Worthing. Check out Jenn's thread on the SheCycles Forum for more details.

    Beyond1

  • Power Pack and Starter Pack sessions on Sunday 19th November in Surrey. These road riding coaching sessions are for starters and novice racers are being organised by the Surrey League at Brockham, near Dorking in Surrey. They are lead by John Leitch and aim to give riders the confidence and knowledge to get you to the start line of your first race and see you over the finish line too. Sessions start at 12.00 and run until 3.00pm and cost £4 per rider. For all information about the venues and times etc please contact John Leitch on john.leitch@rbi.co.uk.

  • SheCycles member and regular group rider 'CJ' is organising mountain bike rides at Friston Forest in Sussex, the next one is Sunday 19th November, check out her thread on the SheCycles Forum

    25/26th November

  • Peak District aficionados will be pleased to hear that regular mountain bike rides are being organized by a bunch of women on the SheCycles Forum Sounds like Saturday 25th is the next ride, somewhere around Hope and Mam Tor [One of my favourite rides in the Dark Peak - Ed]. More info on that thread on the SheCycles Forum.

  • Evans-Trail Break Trail Ride on Saturday 25th November at Shackleford on the North Downs. A choice of three different length routes from 12 to 40 miles, well marked routes and you get a free OS route map and energy drink on route. SheCycles.com run a women's ride within the event, a sociable ride on the standard length route, meeting at 9.45am by the start. Check out Trail Break website for locations and directions.
