It may have been a bit chilly when we headed out from the village hall in Bramley, Surrey on Saturday 3rd Nov, but the sunshine and autumn colours were absolutely stunning. We headed out along the disused railway past old Victorian waiting rooms and station houses thinking that this month's TrailBreak route might be a nice flat ride!
No way, once we headed off the disused railway we hit the Surrey Hills and headed over heathland, commons, through ancient beech woodlands and along singletrack bridleways. Things hotted up as we reached the woodlands near Peaslake (where we've held SheCycles women's rides before), loads of singletrack and steep climbs and fast descents. We climbed up to the viewpoint at Holmbury Hill which offered us stunning views for miles and a chance to soak in some rays whilst wolfing down an energy bar or two.
Next stop was Peaslake village for some tasty nosh from the village shop (honestly we did do a few miles inbetween) before turning back towards Bramley across fields and bridlepaths we'd never found before and then into the woods again for some cracking descents and steep climbs. Finishing up on the old railway in time to spin out tired legs before hitting the tea and cake back at the finish!
Thanks to all the riders who made it such a fun and sociable outing and here's to 25 miles of great riding and burning 1900 calories on a glorious sunny autumn day! Cheers!! More photos coming soon!
