The final round of the Trek 642 Enduro Series ran along side the NPS XC final last weekend and saw big fights for the overall series medals.
The women's solo racing was dominated by the Specialized girls with Jenn O'Connor and Kate Potter battling it out in the 6 Hour Pro Elite category finishing together for a joint 1st place and series win.
Marie Stuart, still a Youth rider, led the 2Hour Womens Race and was well in the lead after three laps, she decided to finish there well under the 2 hour cut off time. Her tactics were misjudged as Sally Lee also finished her third lap in under the 2 hour time limit and rode another lap to win the race. Stuart's saving grace was knowing she'd won the overall Series even with a 2nd place on the day.

Kate Potter, Kate George and myself all lined up for the 6hr Enduro on Sunday, with myself and Potter the only contenders for the Elite race and the Elite series, and George riding for the second time in the Open category. Potter rode hard from the start, and I held her wheel through the initial crowds. She maintained a hard pace throughout, and despite several changes in pace we were stuck to each other, as the flat course offered no real chance to make a break. After five hours of hammering it out, we agreed to stop bashing each other and share the win. We rode a final lap and crossed the line together to take a joint race and series win. It made for a very satisfactory result for the team, and a dignified end to the season for both of us.
Kate George finished just a couple of minutes behind and a lap down to take the Open category and a second place in the Open series. Not bad for someone who swears she'll never race another 6hr!
