The next round of the MTB World Cup is fast upon us, starting on Friday 26th May and running over the Bank Holiday weekend at the infamous Scottish venue of Fort William.

World's best women MTB'ers

The World Cup is benefiting from some pretty fancy broadband connectivity, thanks to support from the local enterprise company, Lochaber Enterprise.
If all the bits work and talk to each other there'll be high speed, high capacity connections involving a radio link from the bottom of the Nevis Range gondola to the top of the gondola, then another radio link to a BT connection in Corpach.
One benefit will be a new World Cup Live! section on the Fort Bill website, providing webcam pictures of the Village as it changes from a car park to one of the coolest sporting events on the planet (from Monday we hope), regular news and photo updates, live results (from Friday training onwards) and some video downloads of top runs.
Midge free World Cup?
According to the experts, the late, cold spring has delayed the rousing of the local midge population by 2-3 weeks. With a bit of luck this means we could have a midge-free World Cup. But just in case you might want to bring some insect repellant along!
Pedros clean up
The bike wash is one of the busiest places during the world cup as riders ensure their steeds always look the part no matter how much mud and dust they pick up during racing and training.
This year Pedros, the bike maintenance brand, is running the bike wash during the World Cup, helping give riders that extra gleam and sparkle.
Big entry expected
All the signs are for a record entry to this year's World Cup, with many new riders checking out the courses ahead of the 2007 World Championships.
The official entry list will be confirmed soon, you can check out the www.fortwilliamworldcup.co.uk
See you there!
