Fort William has just been awarded the best DH and 4X World Cup trophy for
the 4th year running. This is a pretty impressive achievement and shows how
much the world of mountain biking loves Fort William - and in particular the
amazing crowds.
The people at Fort William say “This award is for everyone who was there and made 2005 so special. How do we follow 2005 and in particular the Sunday when Steve, Tracey (and
Rachel) gave so much to cheer about? It's going to be tough but we'll try hard - and if we get the usual level of
support from the crowds, who knows what might happen.”
Planning is well underway and as usual expect some new ideas and even more success at Britain's biggest mountain bike event of the year. We'll keep you posted on further updates - so watch this space.
The update of the Fort William World Cup website complete with the 2006 identity and
on-line ticket office is taking a bit longer than planned. We're told it will all be live before the end of
February, all being well.
Remember this year's World Cup is on the May Bank Holiday weekend, that's the 27-28th May, so
accommodation will be at a premium. The earlier you book the better.
