Stylish, lightweight and windproof!

This Windjacket Pro from Specialized was quickly tagged as the one item of bike clothing that I have always wanted but never knew existed!
It is an incredibly lightweight outer layer, designed to protect you from the wind, that rolls up to about the size of your fist and so fits easily into a back pocket. With a full zip, it is easy to pull on and off and is held secure by elastic around the bottom edge. It's pretty much gadget free, no real pockets or additional extras to speak of, it does purely what it's designed to do - keep you warm and dry and pack down really small!
The surprise is that it is made from a soft feel, stretchy fabric (called Stunner ® Stretch by Specialized) which does exactly what it promises; looks stunning and stretches. This allows the jacket to be cut to flatter the female form, whilst allowing unrestricted movement on the bike.
I took the jacket on a mountain bike ride, with some long climbs. The weather was reasonably good, so I worked up a sweat on the climbs and knew that I would quickly cool down on the descents. I found myself pulling it on as I admired the view from the top and then enjoyed the comfort of keeping warm on the descents.
After that first ride, I have not left home without it, either because I needed it on from the start to keep me warm, because I wanted it for the descents or just in case the weather changed. Personally, I don't care for carrying things in my back pockets, but this definitely the exception and now I will not leave home without it.
