Women's summer top - Buyer's Guide

 gore_vest
Gore Sportive Vest

Riding in summer is the time to look stylish on your bike and feel comfortable and dry. There's a huge range of vests, tops and jersey's that break the mould of ordinary race jerseys and help you avoid the dreaded cyclist's tan. Bike clothing manufacturers have gone to town over recent years with vests, sleeveless jerseys and stylish casual tops, all quietly technical without shouting “Hey I'm a cycling top!”

Even though it's the time to be carefree and looking good, you still need to consider the technical aspects of your apparel, choose wicking fabrics that dry quickly and absorb sweat and transfer it away from your skin. Why not opt for an integrated and supportive bra it you don't want to wear a separate sports bra? Make sure that it will be suitably supportive for your bust size and check that the straps are substantial and won't dig in to your shoulders. Watch out for cleavage exposure when you're in the riding position too!

Many vests have a Y-shaped rear to allow freedom of movement for the shoulders and provide a close fit that looks stylish off the bike too. Don't overlook the value of pockets, even on a tight vest top a handy pocket means you can carry your house keys, wallet or spare tube with ease. So you don't have to lug a bag around with you.

Hi there, thinking of ordering the above. Has anyone got/had one please? I'm interested in the sleeveless-ness bit ie is it loose fitting to the point where it looks silly? All my other Ground Effect clothing has been excellent so I would hope this is too. thanks
