For the relatively small number of riders it seems that there is an extraordinary high number of crashes in women's races on the road and it leaves me thinking what can we all do to lessen these accidents; it seems that if there is a race that does not have any crashes at all then that is news when crashes should be fairly rare.

I know that there must be a whole host of reasons why these crashes happen, one of which is the very wide range of abilities and experience in women's racing when we have novices line up with Elites who have been racing a number of years.

I know that Commissaires try to give as much leeway as possible for the riders when there is no approaching traffic but perhaps they should be stricter and ensure that ...
