Cannondale Carve MTB shoes

Blue shoes seem to be a real trend for 2005 and Cannondale have opted for 'Sapphire Blue' and grey, and pretty nice they are too!

Carve
Carve that singletrack in style

The 3 velcro straps provide quick and easy fitting, and simple on the bike adjustment for a custom fit without any phaffing around. Velcro straps accommodate a good range of feet widths, volumes and shapes, although wider feet would benefit from the straps being a tad bit longer even if it's just for asthetic purposes.

The Carve has amazing mud clearance, any loose stuff caught up whilst walking around finds it's own way out of the sole and there's plenty of room around the cleats to help with pedal interaction even in muddy conditions. You can run SPD, TIME and Eggbeater cleat-pedal combinations without a hitch. The sole boasts plenty of grip and traction with a couple of moulded studs at the toes for added help whilst climbing, and chunky tread at the heel too. In performance terms they're ridgid enough for good pedalling dynamics on the bike, but with enough flexibility for walking around in when off the bike.

The synthetic leather uppers are breathable and quick drying, making a great year round choice when worn with the appropriate socks to suit the temperature outside. There are plenty of reflective strips and logos along the sides and at the heel for extra safety on those night rides.

Fitting comfortably, they have been well designed for a snug fit on the heel whilst at the front, your toes have plenty of room to move around. Having a high instep it was refreshing to find the Carve provided good and comfortable support across my foot, great for long rides and when you need to walk around.

A little bit pricey at £80 but you do get plenty of technical features and a good adjustable fit for your money!
