I have a total horror of short shorts! I'm looking for a pair of ladies roadie bib shorts with an inseam of more than about 6 or 7 inches. 10" would be great.

I am a women specific and bib short convert. I have a pair of ancient Briko ladies bib shorts which have sadly had it and now I can't find anything to replace them with!(Apart from some really horrid Lussos)

I can live without the bibs if I have to, but I'd really like a pair of shorts that are more "bemuda" than "hot pant".

Does such a thing exist ?

You're looking for the Holy Grail!

I tend to go for men's bib shorts just because of the lengh.

Have you tried Minx Girls website?

Sportful have some ladies bib shorts if you can stomach the pale pink "body"......they are called Tour bibshorts

look on www.sigmasport.co.uk under the clothing / womens wear

Yes, I've seen the Sportfull stuff - was really after something with shoulder straps rather than a full on body, but coudl be an option. I used to wear men's shorts, but was converted to a whole new world of bum comfort when I moved onto ladies shorts a few years ago - don't really want to go bakc to men's. I've checked out Minx, and all sorts of other stockists and manufacturer's webistes. Annoyingly Assos do ladies longs and 3/4 but not shorts (and amusingly, the only colour ladies Assos shorts in the Sigma Sport sale are bright yellow (in a yellow jersey shade)- really? Nobody would buy short lycra shorts in bright yellow at full price! Gosh I am surprised! )

DeMarchi womens contour bib shorts?

Wiggle are selling De Marchi women's Contour bib shorts. Doesn't give a leg length but the sales guys always reply promptly to emails. It looks quite long, but then the model is a particularly weird shape and clearly not a cyclist!

Have you tried Gore Bike Wear - I find their (non-short-short) models nicely long and as far as I know they do a women's bib short. Based on the assumption that more serious cyclists will be buying the bibs I would expect them to be on the longer leg end of the Gore spectrum.
This brings up one of my pet hates about buying online - convenient as it is. I was looking at women's shorts the other day on the Evans website - there must be 20-30 different women's shorts listed but no where does it say how long the inseam is, so you're left with a huge long list of mainly black shorts which look identical. Is it any wonder they can't shift more expensive gear, as on their little photos, a £19.99 pair of no-brand looks just as good as a £75+ pair of Assos unless you know the brand. Even the women-specific websites like Minx Girl and Girls Run Too (good place for bike gear too) tend not to give this sort of detail.

Hi Fiona, Thanks for thr tip on the Goreb stuff, I'll check it out. I emailed Debbie at Minx Girl who pointed me in the direction of Terry Women's Long shorts and Pearl Izumi womens's bibs. Both have an inseam of about 10", in fact i think the Terrys are 10.5". I know what you mean about buying on line. I tend to buy "bottoms" from real shops, unless I'm replacing something with like for like. Was meaning to buy the Pearl Izumis, but a long run of birthdays and weddings has put that on hold, and now the nights are drawing in and I've already started wearing my 3/4 lengths (also Pearl Izumi) again...the temperature must have been in single figures on the Cow and Calf (Ilkley Moor) last weekend!
