thansk I have offered if anyone else would take me on honeymoon..... he has no more holiday time left you see.... oh well looks like i will be a nurse for my new ahem marriage in sickness and health.....
What a nightmare - glad you had a great day up to that point. Can Jay not re-arrange his leave?
not really his work are very odd but not to worry gives me time to get fit and beast him up the trails ( I wish!!)
Very sorry to hear your news. Surely if holiday becomes sick time, then he should have further holiday to recompense, certainly does at my place. Are you sure this is not contravention of the EU working time directive etc.????

I know the feeling! My hubby and I got married in March and went skiing in Canada for our honeymoon - that was the plan anyway. On the second day, Rich had a fall whilst skiing the last run of the day, and ruptured his spleen, requiring a splenic embolization. So, the rest of our honeymoon was spent in Calgary hospital! Best wishes to your hubby for a speedy recovery, and my sympathies to you both!

Gosh that is bad luck. My Honeymoon, which was a 3 day walking holiday in the Lake district, ended up with me on crutches. At least I still got to go to the hotel. Hope your Husband gets mended soon.
Forgot to say Congratulations. This is surely a good sign for wedded bliss, as things will only get better.
Gayle, that is rubbish!!! Congrats on the marriage though, and glad you had a good day up until then! Janet, my husband ruptured his spleen snowboarding too! Very scary, I thought he was going to die!!! Not on our honeymoon though, but it was still not much fun. He didn't have something in his top pocket on his jacket by any chance did he? That's how my husband did it, and we now call that his "splenetic pocket" and he is not allowed to carry anything in it.
Wow all these spleens knew there was a good reason not to take up snowboarding at my time of life!!!!!
thank god we did not go snowboarding!! Now to cap it off our boiler is broken, and I have stinking cold after my nite ride last night!!
Sorry to hear that Gayle... but anyway - CONGRATULATIONS! Honeymoons and weddings seem to be pretty dangerous affairs... I broke my ribs on our honeymoon in Lake Garda!

Hi Gayle, I cannot believe this news. OMG, you poor things, you were obviously gyrating far too vigorously to The Twist or some other 60s classic Seriously though, lots and lots of get well wishes to Jay and to you too for having to miss out on your honeymoon. I am so sorry for you both x Mind you, if you fancy a ride out this Sunday (and a break from being nursey) I'm doing a Muddy@rse ride at Queen Elizabeth Park which isn't too far from you and you're more than welcome to join us. here's the link if you're interested www.sussexmuddyarse.wordpress.com Take care you two newly weds, Lisa x

Confirms wot this DJ has always known; blokes and dancefloor are words that should never ever go together!
Gayle, Just read your post. Best wishes to Jay for a speedy recovery. Hope he is well on the way to mending by now. From reading the title I thought, uh oh a mtn bike injury! But as I always thought dance floors are far more dangerous, so smooth and flat (not what mtbers expect!) Anyway despite this hiccup I hope things are looking up for you both now and after your last post it sounds like thats the three things out the way. Best wishes and see you soon hopefully. helen
