Just back from my week in scotland and the second part of the week we stayed here : http://www.marthrown.com/

the website does not do this place any justice at all! ( 2 mins away from skillz park at mabie )

Highly recommended if ever you go to mabie, dalbeatie etc

It has red squirrels, a free hot tub, sauna, amazing ewok viliiage style camping in the trees with outdoor eco showers and loo's, a ti pe (wig wam), round house, bunk houses & yurts. You can also book climbing a high wires and rope courses n canoes.

we've booked a yurt for new years! can't wait to go back.

A gem of a site.

It MUST have changed then. I stopped there about five years ago and it was a complete sh*t hole !!!

Sorry not usually so vocal but it was dreadful.

From the pictures it doesn't look any different. I stopped in the dorm at the bunkhouse that is in the top picture. It was damp, it smelt, it was cold. There was chewing gum stuck to the wall. The shower curtain was minging !! The owner kept coming round and switching things off because of the generator. The water was cold. Overall it needed a dam good clean/decorate.

Then when we provided the chap with feedback he suggested we might want to help restore the place. er.... no we just won't go back again.

certainly wasn't like what you said and looks nothing like the pictures at all.

it's not exactly luxiourous so if your a city gal i don't suppose you'd like it there. (i'm not speaking directly at you there Carolyn as i've never met you!)

if you want to get away from the caravans and busy campsites and get back to nature - then this site is amazing. you can't be scared of a few bugs though!

i'd pick here to a mega clean caravan park with tents on top of each other any day.

If it looked nothing like the pictures then it has been done up.The pictures are exactly as I remember it. I can say I don't like roughing it but there is nothing wrong with a place being cleaned every now and again !!

We were a group of about 20 and it was unanimous that we would never go back again. I heard similar comments from other groups also.
