Hey There,

I'm 39 and just started road cycling (have a specialized dolce). I live in Alrewas staffordshire and am really hoping to meet other cyclists in my area. Are there any out there. I have considered hooking up with the local club but feel a little out of my depth to begin with. If you would like a riding partner and are in my area let me know. Emma

Hi Emma and welcome.

Try making contact with Stafford Road Club or Walsall Road Club (try Bridgetown cycles who do have a web site if you google the name)  Lynne Taylor and her brother run the shop, they are members of Walsall RC, you won't be in Lynne's league at the present (that isn't to be derogatory about your abilities but she is one of top female cyclists), but she might be able to point in the right direction for some local riders who might be around your ability.  Tell her I told you about her, she'll know who you mean.

That's great, thanks Sharon. I just need somewhere to start and really want to improve my skills.

Hi Emma

Might be worth trying Mammoth Cycles at Milford (on the Stafford side of Cannock Chase).  I think they have quite an active road riding group and there is a forum on their shop website www.mammothlifestyle.co.uk

Don't know much about it as I am not into road riding but, it may be worth a look.
