Im looking to go to the lakes this weekend but taking my 11year old daughter and our bikes, any ideas of what will be suitable for her shes been to Delamere with me, she has a Trek 4300. nothing to hard or technical or if anybody knows any place else where we can do some biking and also a nights camping

You could try Grizedale Forest as there is a range of routes there to suit different levels.  There is also a good campsite at Hawkshead and a National Trust campsite at Wray.  They are very helpful in the bike hire there with routes.

There's a lovely ride along the western shore of Windermere. You could park in Bowness, catch the car ferry over to Ferry House, cycle alongside the lake to Wray Castle, then on roads to Ambleside for lunch - before sailing back to Bowness.

Lots of other suggestions in "Off-Road Trails & Quiet Lanes" by Keith Bradbury, which should be available in the local bike shops - highly recommended for beginners
