I'm a lucky lady and have just moved to Dumfries.  Is anyone up for accompanying me to places like Dalbeattie/Mabie/Ae plus other stanes locations either after work or at weekends?

I'm brand new to mountain biking but loving it!  I had no problems with the short blue/red singletrack at Kirroughtree at the weekend and I'm up for pushing myself.  My fitness needs working on but I'm on the case!

I'm 29 and work in higher education.  I'm hiring bikes at the moment as I'm in the market for a new one and want to try out as much as possible.  Probably looking at Trek 6500 WSD, Specialized Myka Pro or other similar hardtail. 

 Anyone up for it?

I'm so gutted that I live in Suffolk. My husband and I were up in Dumfries (Well, sandyhills to be exact) at the end of July for a 7 stanes biking holiday and I loved it so much! Was never much of a biker before but took my bike along to show willing, and by the end of the week I was buzzing - despite a nasty fall into a ditch of brambles in Kirroughtree! Now I am looking to buy a decent bike and we're considering visiting Scotland again during October half term!

 I'm up for it! Since I moved to Glasgow, have been struggling to find biking buddies around here. Dumfries is close enough for me to ge to at weekends. And I do know a wicked cheap, cabin with a hot-tub down there! Perfect for long weekends and chilling out after a hard day's ridng!

 I'm a huge fan of 7 stanes and love Mabie. Not been biking for a long either and really keen to get out more.

 Let  me know when you want to get together- how about next weekend? 26/27th August. Maybe Julie could join us too?

 I live in Glasgow too and don't know too many mountain bikers, just moved here in Feb.  I did go out with Glasgow mountain biking club last night, which was great but would be nice to get some female company as well!  Would be up for a wee trip to seven stanes next weekend but do you mean the 23rd August?

 Wags, i've got a trek 6500  so you can see it in action / have a wee go if you promise not to hurt it!

I'm a big fan of Drumlanrig but haven't been to Mabie in ages so would be nice to go there.

Yeah, I tried GMBC a wee while back but wasn't very fit and the boys left me for dust! Haven't had the guts to go back on my own since, maybe I could tag along with you sometime?

Yeah, i meant w/e of the 23rd August. I am up for either 7stanes or anywhere else then. Saturday would be better though. Amd of we are both going from Glasgow, could share the petrol?

 Never been to Drumlanrig. Its on a list of other places I am keen to try though!

I'm up for a weekend in Scotland, don't mind traveling as long as the for-cast is good, my weekends are a bit hit and miss until the end of Aug, so maybe something in Sept or Oct.

i was going to try glasgow mountain bike club as they as near me . i have only been to glentress and Ae but getting abit more comfotable with the red trails i do have my own bike and willing to give a lift

anybody been looking at the ladies only weekend at glentress ???
