I used to live in Lancaster but, although I know loads of MTBers there, I know very few roadies apart from the ones who race at Salt Ayre crit circuit, don't really know anyone who'd go out for a social.  There's a couple of local roadie clubs (Lune CC are probably the biggest) but their rides tend to be the usual roadie chaingang - about 50-70 miles with a cafe stop usually.  It might be worth popping down to Salt Ayre (races are on a Tuesday about 6.30pm thorughout summer), you'll probably find a few people (men and women) who might be up for social rides.

I know some great road rides there though, anything between 20 miles and 100.    I'm still up in the area on a regular basis, often with both the road bike and MTB.

Thanks James, I'm going to check Salt Ayre tonight. Had a beautiful ride to Sedbergh and I have got a taste for the road.
