Has the world gone mad?

It would seem that stabbing people is the latest thing, or robberies with knives.

You just dont know who you can trust now a days, cause one confrontation to the wrong person and that could be it.

I have to deal with memebers of the public and even im starting to think maybe its not worth it, i got threatened last week verbally, and they were gonna come back and sort me out!!

Because of the nature of my business even im starting to worry that sooner or later we will get robbed

I agree it is worrying; one of our midwives had to leave and move elsewhere following threats from family and excessively extended family of one our clients.  She was a student when a case she was assisting with did not go to plan.

But so easily something can be taken the wrong way.  My cousin was trying to get the bar when he flattened by someone who reckoned he did not like the way he had been looked at!  My cousin does not recall looking at anyone, it was probably just a casual glance in the general melee and certainly nothing intended.

Where I used to live in Horwich the young lads next to us were always having car problems; stealing, burning out, once one was even partially pushed over the edge of the hill.  I am sure it was cos someone did not like them in the town.

But just how easily could all this turn to knife use.  Is it worse or is it just being highlighted more, it is all so difficult to judge.?  It is certainly no fun having a 14/5 year old growing up in this world.  Fortunately he is not involved in gang culture, but then they do not have to be......

I think now a days, people dont have respect for one another?

When i was a kid you wouldnt think to give a teacher back chat or disrespect the police.

But maybe thats how i was brought up?

Gees i sound like a cold git , think im having a midlife crisis and keep thinking of the good ole days....... ekk

Ahh pootle come join us grumpy's.  Have had similar conversations with old school mates, how we could be mischeivious but we knew how far togo and a look or a word from a teacher/parent etc., told us we had gone far enough.  These days they just carry on without knowing when to stop.

Don't know about you guys but I remember when I was younger I was always slightly scared of my parents as I knew that if I got into any trouble I would be in more trouble with them!  That's not to say my parents were overly strict and controlling by any means but I knew how far to go with them.  That is what's lacking with kids these days - they know no one will say or do anything about their behaviour.  It's another reason that I never intend on having any!

I hate the way, offenders / potential offenders use the human rights act to thier advanatage leaving victims of crime powerless and dissappointed !

Yeah you're supposed to just lie back while the thugs and yobs rob your home or kick your head in.

Cos that's not an infringement of your human rights at all is it???!!
