Hi there. Just found this fantastic site. Nice to see a site dedicated to women. I am 38 and live in West Norfolk. I've always been into mountain biking (although not very good at it!). Last year i took a tumble and broke my arm so have been spending the last few months getting my confidence back. I also commute by bike and am about to take deliver of my first ever road bike. This weekend sees my first ever (mini) tour holiday. Just going 40 miles up to the Norfolk coast, staying overnight then heading back next day! More to try out our kit than anything else. Will be nice getting you know you all.

Hi and welcome to the madhouse. My cycling started with touring so can give tips if needed. Can be great fun, a great way to see the country, meet people etc. Do not use over large bags, you will be tempted to fill em. Keep stuff to a minimum, and if you can use small bottles of toiletries/travel packs etc.

Hello Everyone, Just thought I'd say a hello and introduce myself. Have fun on your mini tour Jane. I will eventually do the same myself one day, providing I get in the practice. I am not having much luck at the mo at finding some beginner cycle clubs in my area its a bit frustrating. I just want to get myself out and about in our lovelly country side with some like minded folks and have some fun in a healthy fit way. It looks like I am going to put an add in the local rag to find some bike buddies. There is one thing I will do though and that is invest in a MTB course but would like to do some simple gentle runs for the time being. If anyone from my neck of the woods that is Livingston West Lothian would like to get in touch with me to go for a gentle run that would be just great or if any body knows of any cycle clubs in the neighborhood any info at all really would be appreciated. Nice to meet u all. Thanks Bren

Back safe and sound from our mini tour. It was only 40 miles each way but first time I've done more than 25 miles. Only problem was that I think I have ITBS. Outside of right knee absolutely killing me by the time we got to Wells and then yesterday started to hurt after the first 20 miles. Ouch. Had a rest day today then back to it next week. Just had my first ever road bike delivered so looking forward to getting a few miles under my belt on that. The tour was fun though - just hope knees don't let me down for the next one.

Gulliver looks lovely! you'll be flying around soon! You got the rain as well then! I'm not sure I would like touring in the rain, riding is fine as I just come home to a nice shower.
