I just carry a water bottle in my back pocket but I have seen loads of riders with Camel Baks. What do you use to carry fluids on a ride?

I think you'll find you answered your own question, most people use Camelbaks or similar.

Camelbaks or similar & treat yourself to a camelbak cleaning kit it saves loads of hassle.

Racing = waterbottle, Riding = camelbak (I use a Mule, it fits my camera, tools, food and waterproof in nicely without being massive). Contrary to what Dude says, I'd suggest that Camelbak cleaning kits are a waste of money. Bike shops sell 3 cleaning tabs for £10, you can buy 24 for about £2 from chemists (Milton's Sterilising Tabs) and a bent wire coathanger stuffed inside will open it out to dry it as well as Camelbak's plastic gadget (another £10!).

Buy two wire coat hangers, straighten one out and stick some sponge on the end and you can clean black gunk out the tube too. They're exactly the right length for a camelbak tube when straightened out

Camelbak on any rides over a couple of hours, waterbottle on short local rides and on my road bike. I clean my camelbak using milton tablets as well and dry it by shoving a teatowl in and hanging it up, the cleaning kits seem very expensive to me.

Camel back. Never had a cleaning issue (but I only drink water). Eventually once you're done with a ride a very very lazy technic is fill it up with water and shove it in the freezer.
I have an old lobo for every day ride where I can put keys/tools/phone/sparetube/ and it has a string one the outside for the jacket/knee guards.
For day long ride I use a salomon super light and super cheap. Main pocket is filled up with a fleece a waterproof, sandwich/apple/chocolate/knee guards/tools and sometimes camera. Side pockets get spare tubes and the usual cash/car keys.
It has a mesh and a string on the outside for more stuff.
Plenty of choice as nowadays most of the major hiking brands rug-sack have a bladder pocket.

camelbak- the women specific magic one. never had to clean it once but one of my mates recommends cleaning them with denture-cleaning tablets.

I use a camelback and chuck the fluid bladder in the freezer after emptying it and swilling it out. My bf didn't empty his for ages after coming back from Morzine a few years ago and we had to throw it out as it developed long stringy growths in it. Nice...

use a camelbak magic ( ladies one ) but its a bit too small really. much prefer using camelbaks as you can easily carry other stuff at the same time. I'm not keen on using jersey pockets & seat bags.

Mine's just a general one. I had it bought for me though so am not complaining! Although the buyer (ie bf) has decided I 'need' a womens' one and then he can have mine as his is getting knackered, that's handy isn't it?

Looking at getting a Vaude 17 +3 for those longer journeys ,...although doesn't come with a bladder. I have been using a Havoc (mens' specific DH) one for ages but decided it's far to big for my back so getting rid of it.
