ooo also just discovered 'the cat empire' which are a cuban funky type band (you'd like if you like manu chao etc) they have a song on the seasons mtb dvd.
cool I love manu chao, will have to check that out! not so keen on my family though, tee hee.
the cat empire are Australian... just getting my plug in

Johnny cash is always a good value for acoustic. Try the album el nino rojo by DEVENDRA BANHART, a bit strange lyric wise but very lay down and it makes me chuckle MTV unplugged session are usually risks free. I quite like song of the labyrinth from sting. But that is a bit weird and maybe not your tastes. Gary Jules fit the bill, but it like jack Johnson they only are half the man ben harper is. Damien rice is very popular among my lady friends. That all I can think of due to my poor knowledge of english acoustic music but then you can find everything in acoustic on youtube if you're brave.

ah ha a cat empire fan brozza! yes they are australian ( like john butler trio) but they play cuban/regae influenced music from teh album i have ( only got 1 album)
Claire if you like manu chao have a look at what he did will he was in france. Band is called la mano negra; Buena vista social club can't really be define as lay down but I personnaly quite enjoy it (but then I have strange tastes)
yep love mano negra and buena vista social club. not a fan of j. cash. never heard of gary jules - i'll check him out. foxy you might like orishas ( cuban hip hop band )
I really liked the first album of orishas (it took my a lot to understand the lyrics...) Not so keen on Emigrante... Need to look if there is other albums after this one.
And if you don't mine non english music have a look to the following. Tete Alain bashung Jean louis aubert (he has a tv unplugged which is brilliant) Louise attaque La rueketanou Be aware they are indeed very very french. Have a go to benabar's song called "le vélo (the bike)" very funny
foxy boy do you like amadou and mariam? Malian band who did some stuff with Manu Chao and I think they are v popular in france. I love them.
Nope But then I haven't set foot in france long enough to keep up to date with music I barely had time to buy books. I'll big into that. Thanks claire.
i have one of their albums claire. v good. ace selection thanks foxy i'll look into them asap. I prefer non english speaking music whilst at work concentrating. orishas - first album is by far the best btw.
