Help! What's your favourite item of clothing?

Hello ladies!

Ok, so I haven't posted for a very long time, but I could do with some help from your collective experience of girly bike clothing...

My LBS is in the process of expanding through to the shop next door (hooray!) and is therefore going to have loads more space for lovely goodies. They've asked me and a friend if we can pick out some ladies clothing to stock (hooray hooray!) as they're all boys and not quite sure what girlies like.

So... What are your favourite items of clothing that you love to pieces and wouldn't be without? What should all good bike shops stock for girls? Do we like pink and flowery, or do we prefer sludge colours? Give us your favourite makes etc.

Thanks all!

Jen

Ok, so maybe I should have looked at Simon's thread before I posted! Oops! Any additional ideas still welcome though...

Can I make a suggestion that they also stock some smaller mens sizes as an alternative to ladies stuff, I generally prefer mens kit as it fits me better but it can be really difficult to find where you can try it on.

Also legwarmers/arm warmers for short/small people who are not built like stick insects

If the shop covers both these areas I'll be there like a shot - where is it?

  1. My Gore Phantom jaket - I wear it on most rides, most of the time. OH has the men's version, and Gore have intelligently/merifully styled it very differently, so we can both wear them at the same time and not look sad!
  2. My Pearl Izumi Whisper Gilet - wear it to bike, run, walk... is barely off my back in dry weather.

gore, sombrio (shorts only), fox - my main fave cycling brands.

also a big fan of howies ( normal clothes and base layers )

favourite bits of kit = gore alp paclite waterproof jacket & my sombrio la nina 3/4 shorts.

i don't have any particular colours that are no no's(ok so maybe not white its just impractical), its more of the style or fabric that puts me off clothing.

i'll also vote for Sombrio, fox and howies.

Howies base layers and their windproof jacket (can't remember the name) are definite essentials.

And my sombrio shorts from Minx are amazing. la Ninas are brilliant but so are the lotus - in fact they're my definite favourite.

For great extras look at sock guy socks too.

Gore.

Exteondo, tis time someone stocked a decent range of this. Bright colours please no sludge and no flowers, i like my flowers where they should be; in my garden or in the hedge rows.

Howies for me! I too am a big fan. Their base layers are the best and I love their jackets.

My favourite item of clothing: waterproof shorts - but mine are small men's - I couldn't find any women's when I bought mine. Tell your LBS that they are a must have. It's been so nice having a dry bum all winter.
