Hi,

Anyone else going to the Big Wight MTB Festival. I want to try the Navigator Competition, but I have no experience in it. Any advice? or anyone interested to make a team with me, so I can learn from/ with this person!

I was thinking to go for the week-end and maybe do 60km Enduro on Saturday and Navigator on Sunday. By the way, I can also offer to share a car leaving from London.

Yes I am going... did it last year but didnt venture out into the sunday to do the Navigator as it was a howling gale.. have entered to do 60km saturday and 40km sunday as will have a beer head on!...

You dont need to make up a team as they giv you SI tags (remember to give them back at the end) and you get clocked in and out at the start gate... fingers crossed for good weather as the views are amazing... huge climbs , not technical at all.. but a 100km in the IOW is going to be a toughie which is why i have bailed and only doing 60...!!.. there is a group of 4 of us.. will be camping an ninham from friday afternoon .. one VW transporter and a Red & silver truck with a caravan.. come over and say hi...!!!

I'll be there too! This will be my 4th time doing this event, great fun! I've done the 2-day navigator as a mixed pair before but this is the first time i have entered solo... exciting!

day two last year was absolutely horrendous! I don't think I've ever been so cold and wet for such a long time in my life! It can't possibly be as bad this time, some sunshine would be nice, though!

I wouldn't say I'm particularly great at navigators but I've been doing them long enough so I should know what I'm doing. I'd be happy to go through the key features of the event and share some tips friday night if you want. we are staying in a B&B just outside Ninham (hubby doesn't do camping...) We are catching the 6pm ferry from Southampton so it will probably be about 8pm by the time we get there.

Send me an e-mail if you have any imminent questions or if you want my mobile number
