I'm so busy that I won't be able to ride for nearly a month and I am really missing it, have less time so tend to go to the gym at the moment and completely swamped with uni work, wedding plans and balancing working full time.... I now do believe absence makes the heart grow fonder

You should get a turbo , that way you can ride while you do uni work etc lol , although this isnt as fun as going out obviously. I am beginning to master cycling and revision as i have my finals in a few weeks- although my revision reading etc gets rather sweaty So what are you studying?

Come on Gayle you can maange some riding! I have a manic full time job am at college training to be a counsellor so have weekly journals to write and am renovating our house... I sometimes wonder where the weeks go but I always give time for me and even if its 5k run I get out and make time for me. 1 hour a day...you can do that.

AAAhh would be great, problem is its my msc in nursing so its all modules with essays unfortunately, although the turbo sounds tepmting... Once I get this research proposal done by monday then the bike will be dusted off, just on the internet on a break doen 10 hours today aaarrrggghhh

i know how you feel- in the middle of riding my minor thesis at the moment, sitting my exams and still writing papers for my modules but there's only four more weeks until the SUMMER!!
.....oh am I glad I did the old style nursing and midwifery qualifications, really don't envy you girls these days. ...and i still think we had more fun, living in the nurses home, sneaking in after midnight, sneaking a boyfriend in, parties that were banned, going on shift having been up all night....! Sorry it is affecting your cycling. I know when I was swatting for midwifery I would do an intense session, have a break (actually read something light such as Mills and Boon!!!!!) before returning to it. Have lunch, so some more then take a break to do 10-15 miles on the bike.

"in the middle of riding my minor thesis at the moment"- freudian slip instead of writing- i'm actually missing my bike that much!!
I remember the fun days too!!! Hopefully i may finish my proposal by tomorrow night!!! Then onto the next three module assigmnents.... but managed to sneakily get out on thurs nite for a 8 miler via weightwatchers, and really enjoyed it

took the singlespeed out in the foul weather over my local woods for the first time and to be fair i am converted although a tad unfit, I loved it, gliding through the puddles and I felt strangely comfortable getting off the saddle to climb, weird thing is, my knees have been so bad all week, struggling to walk up the stairs but the bout on the SS has really helped them much less painful this evening..
I don't think singlespeeding is bad for the knees at all. I've had knee problems for years and got a ss in feb. I've had no problems at all. Like you I love it! I love how quiet the bike is and even enjoy how hard climbing can be on it!
